Hosted by the ICAA Technical Committee and ICAA Retrofit Subcommittee, this session will prepare you for assessing attics before you decide to bid on the work. We will conduct a point-by-point walkthrough before you air seal and add insulation and explain why preparatory work may be necessary. Potential disqualifying conditions include the presence of knob and tube wiring, vermiculite, leaks, and combustion appliances. BPI CEU credits earned with this session!
General Session 2 – Negotiating Without Giving In

Sharpen and build confidence in your negotiation skills in a variety of settings. Improve your ability to predict and understand the behavior of others during a negotiation. Become familiar with the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which provides robust incentives for adding insulation and air sealing. These incentives include residential retrofit (25C) tax credits, new home construction (45L) tax credits, commercial building retrofit (179D) tax deductions, and the forthcoming home efficiency rebate programs.
